Calendula officinalis L., a member of the Asteraceae family, is often known as English Marigold or Pot Marigold. an annual perennial herb traditionally used to treat wounds, ulcers, herpes, scars, skin damage, frostbite, and blood purification. It mainly disorders anti-diabetic, anti-ulcer, anti-inflammatory, analgesic activity because its numerous biological properties. This plant has high concentration medicinally active substances such carotenoids, flavonoids, glycosides, steroids sterols, quinines, volatile oil, amino acids. The extract, well pure compound derived from it, been shown have variety pharmacological properties, including anti-cytotoxic, hepatoprotective, spasmolytic effects, among others. oral mucositis, angular cheilitis, periodontal bone loss, leukoplakia also root canal irrigant, intracanal medicament, anti-plaque agent in dentistry. helps heal manage microbial plaque gingivitis periodontitis, boosting immunity. most significant obstacle concern lack knowledge regarding effects C.officinalis on tissues, their mechanisms action, adverse effects.
